Kuwasi Omari is a program coordinator (family and youth division) for Jackson, MS, Human and Cultural Services department. He graduated in 2019 from Jackson State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work. His areas of professional interest include interventions with incarcerated persons reintegrating into society, addressing food insecurity among the poor, and interventions with youth at risk of becoming incarcerated. Being raised by social justice activists instilled his aspiration to work towards those objectives which bring society closer to equality and equity. In his spare time, he enjoys watching basketball and football, exercising, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
