Dr. Mary “MJ” McConner is the Founder and CEO of Inclusive Excellence Consulting, a full-service diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consulting firm based in Memphis. With over fifteen years of experience in the DEI and international education sectors, she is a Certified Diversity Executive and award-winning entrepreneur.
MJ has dedicated her career to understanding and addressing the evolving challenges within organizational cultures, promoting environments committed to equity, access, and inclusive diversity. Her advocacy and community engagement efforts span local, national, and international spaces. Her thought leadership has been featured in AfroTech, Roland Martin Unfiltered, Medium Magazine, Living Corporate, Fox 13 Memphis, and other prominent outlets.
In 2023, MJ was honored as a Super Women in Business by the Memphis Business Journal and recognized at the inaugural Memphis Business Journal Expand: Diversity in Business Awards. She volunteers and holds board positions at Crosstown High School, Junior League of Memphis, SHRM-Memphis, STS Enterprise Corporation, University of Memphis Fogelman Women in Leadership, and the Grand Valley State University Alumni Association.
