Arriell Quianna Gipson Martin, a Memphis local, serves as Senior Program Manager for the District Connector pilot project at Shelby County Government. She co-founded the Hope & Healing Collaborative and sits on several boards, including the Serenity Recovery Centers Board, Leaders of Color Alumni Board, Tennessee Rape Prevention and Education Community Advisory Board, Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence Inclusivity Committee, and more.
Arriell is a graduate of Leaders of Color, Organizing for Action, and the New Memphis Leadership Institute, holding a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has received trauma-informed training from the Department of Criminal Justice Services in Virginia and Law and Epidemic Emergency Preparedness from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Crowned Miss Shelby County USA 2020 and voted Miss Congeniality for Miss Tennessee USA 2020, Arriell began her political career in 2018 and has managed multiple successful campaigns. She has worked as a contractor with Civic Tennessee and currently serves as the 1st Vice President for the Shelby County Young Democrats, an Ex-Officio Executive Committee member of the Shelby County Democratic Party, and the Corresponding Secretary of Democratic Women of Shelby County.
In 2023, Arriell participated in the first “Solution Session” hosted by Starts With Us as part of the Tennessee 11 initiative, aimed at overcoming toxic polarization.
