Whitney Carter is from the South Side of Chicago. She attended Michigan State University for undergrad where she majored in Kinesiology and Psychology. Whitney then started her professional career working for AmeriCorps. She served as a physical education teacher for middle school students. Shortly after, she went on to Temple University to complete her Master of Science degree in athletic training. She has worked as an Athletic Trainer in secondary schools, Division I athletics, and professional football. Currently, she is the Head Athletic Trainer at DePaul College Prep.
Whitney wants to use this experience to bring exposure and resources to inner city schools in Chicago that do not have an Athletic Trainer or the resources needed for athletes who experience athletic injuries. She is passionate about the field of athletic training and youth sports. She feels that every athlete should have the privilege of having an athletic trainer who will ensure safety for youth athletes. It is through this program that she hopes to change the narrative around athletic trainers in youth sports.
