Melynna Hakim Arreola-Quiroga is the Director of Development at Serving People with a Mission (SPM), a volunteer-led nonprofit empowering youth through leadership education, community service, and environmental justice. Guided by the principles of hikmah (wisdom) and zakat (charitable giving), she is committed to promoting peace, philanthropy, and social justice, using her lived experience to challenge inequitable systems and advocate for the development of servant leaders.
In her role, Melynna focuses on securing sustainable funding, expanding fundraising efforts, and fostering partnerships that uplift Latino and students of color from at-risk communities in Chicago. She is leading initiatives such as a fundraising gala highlighting Latino students and engaging Latino businesses as sponsors.
Through the Change Collective, Melynna aims to strengthen SPM’s development strategies, amplify its impact, and build long-term financial sustainability. She is dedicated to ensuring that youth-led initiatives receive the resources they need to thrive while fostering a culture of giving and collective responsibility.
