After having spent 24 years in the state prisons (many) in Michigan, Calvin was released with the idea that he had a continued debt to society. Fueled by the idea and passion that “We are nothing until the least of us is something,” Calvin carried that thought along his journey, as he began to understand and address the needs of those who are impacted by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
He seeks to develop his workforce and economic stability plan, so that those who are most marginalized can begin to get the services that they need while addressing the disparities that are hindrances to economic stability.
