Tia Thomas is a public health professional and nonprofit leader committed to advancing health equity in underserved communities in San Antonio, Texas. She holds a Master of Public Health, which grounds her work in research, community engagement, and culturally tailored practice. Tia is the Founder and CEO of Rise Mentoring, a youth-centered nonprofit that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of minority girls through different forms of programming.
Tia has contributed to community-engaged research focusing on breast cancer, mental health, and chronic disease disparities. Professionally, she serves as a Care Coordinator at BEAT AIDS, where she provides case management, linkage to care, and support for individuals navigating HIV prevention and treatment.
Through the Change Collective, Tia aims to strengthen her skills in community organizing, partnership building, and program development to expand impactful, sustainable initiatives that uplift historically marginalized neighborhoods.
