Lenderrick Taylor, Esq, is a Canton, MS, native with roots in Maywood, IL. Currently working as a Capital Defense Attorney for the Office of State Public Defender where he represensts indigent clients throughout the state of Mississippi charged with a capital felony and face the death penalty. Previously he was a Judicial Law Clerk then transitioned to the Hinds County Public Defender Office. Lenderick earned his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in Business Administration. He now serves as the Vice Chairman of the Canton Public School District School Board and Vice President of the Mississippi Public Defenders Association (MPDA). Lenderick is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He volunteers and advocates for citizens in the community that he serves. This includes expungement clinics, coaching youth sports, and speaking at community events. Lenderick is an alumnus of the SPLC Advocacy Institute, Mississippi Black Leadership Institute (MBLI), and The Mississippi Bar Leadership. He looks forward to building upon himself in the Change Collective as community leader and able to learn from others to effectively change my community.
