Shaughny Rickmon

Shaughny Rickmon, originally from Illinois, is a dedicated advocate and community organizer committed to building equitable and empowered communities. Her organizing journey began in 2016 with A Coalition of Young Minds, where she discovered her passion for supporting youth and driving meaningful change. Shaughny earned her Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Illinois Central College before relocating to Jackson, Mississippi, in 2018 to continue her education at Jackson State University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in 2020.

With more than nine years of experience in grassroots and community-based work, Shaughny has honed her skills as a strategic, compassionate, and solutions-driven organizer. She currently serves as an Advocacy Coordinator at One Voice, where she uses her expertise to advance civic engagement, uplift marginalized communities, and champion policy efforts that foster equity and inclusion. Shaughny remains committed to creating pathways for people to be heard, valued, and empowered.
