Andrea Olmos

Andrea Olmos is the daughter of immigrants and was raised in a small rural community in Mexico. Her personal experiences shaped her commitment to uplifting the Latino community and other marginalized groups navigating systems deeply affected by capitalism and racism.

In her work at Centro Multicultural La Familia, she organizes panels, listening sessions, and community conversations grounded in language justice and designed to place community members at the center. Her focus is always on ensuring that people are heard, respected, and able to guide the conversations that affect them and shape the solutions that impact their lives.

For her Change Collective project, she aims to build community leadership groups where community members can advocate for their own rights, strengthen organic activism, and people organize themselves without relying on traditional professional political leaders. Her vision remains rooted in a belief she carries with her everywhere: “Solo el pueblo salva al pueblo” (only the people can save the people).
