LaShawnda S. Moore

LaShawnda Moore is an Account Executive for a Health Care Third-Party Administrator and has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Jack Welch Management Institute in 2021. She is from the Dallas-Fort Worth Area but has lived in the San Antonio area for over 20 years. She has worked in the Healthcare industry for approximately 10 years. She is a married mother of four children and spends her spare time advocating for education and building her career coaching business in a way that allows her to begin making an impact within the community.

Mrs. Moore’s advocacy work started when she began advocating for her twins, who were diagnosed with learning disabilities after 3 years of working with teachers and doctors. This journey taught her resilience, patience, and most of all determination. She continues to work with advocacy groups like Futuro San Antonio, LEE (Leadership, Equity in Education), and IDEA Public Schools to bring attention to the need for all students to have access to a good education.

We need to determine the barriers and work on ways to navigate through them or remove them entirely. I want to work on building a connection with the community and the community leaders, but also adding the students and parents in the process. It would mean educating parents on ways to communicate with teachers, staff, and also local community leaders. This means coaching, facilitating meetings, and helping parents feel that they are being heard by community leaders.
