Danyelle Holmes is Executive Director of Mississippi Impact Coalition and a senior national social justice organizer with Repairers of the Breach and the Poor People’s Campaign. Born and raised in Greenwood, MS, she moved to Jackson in 1991 to attend Tougaloo College.
Since 2018, Holmes has been deeply involved in grassroots activism, focusing on advocating for the rights of the poor and marginalized. She co-founded the Mississippi Rapid Response Coalition in 2020, which has been instrumental in addressing crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Jackson water crisis. Holmes has also been active in campaigns for fully funding public education, removing the Confederate state flag, and prison reform. Her vision for Mississippi is one of collective progress, where all residents can thrive together.
