Nakyah Hill is a scholar from Jackson, Mississippi and a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Jackson State University. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Fisk University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tougaloo College. Her academic and community work reflect her commitment to mental health access, youth empowerment, and culturally responsive care.
Nakyah’s research focuses on childhood trauma, ambiguous loss, and emotional well-being among young adults. She is dedicated to producing work that supports healing and understanding within communities that have been historically underserved. Her passion for advocacy grew through years of mentoring students and engaging in outreach programs that centered education, wellness, and personal growth.
Through the Change Collective, Nakyah plans to develop community based efforts that support emotional wellness and strengthen resources for youth and families in Jackson. She hopes to use this experience to deepen her leadership skills and continue serving her community with purpose and compassion.
