Chakka Harris

Chakka Harris is a visionary media entrepreneur and the founder of Good Works Media Company, dedicated to using media for social change. With over a decade of experience in the media industry, she has developed expertise in multimedia storytelling, the nonprofit sector, and education. Chakka’s career includes work as a producer and creative career coach, where she has mentored aspiring creators and encouraged innovative approaches.

Driven by empathy, authenticity, impact, and innovation, Chakka believes in the power of films, podcasts, and interactive media to bridge societal gaps and inspire unity among diverse audiences. Her commitment to impactful stories and addressing overlooked social issues forms the foundation of Good Works Media Company’s mission.

Chakka hopes that the Change Collective will give her the tools to turn The Life Skills Project, a multimedia exploration of the history of higher education, into an engine of change in the lives of Chicago’s transitional-aged youth, especially those formerly foster care, also known as Youth in Transition.
