Martina Griffin is a Camden, MS native that continues to live and serve in her hometown. She is currently the youngest and only elected African American female judge in Madison County, MS. Martina is currently serving her community for a third term during which she has developed and implemented a First Offenders program that encourages young adults to set goals and make better life decisions. This program has equipped individuals with the counseling and willpower needed to recover from usage of or addictions to illegal drugs, clean criminal records, and maintain careers, scholarships, and future job opportunities that would otherwise have been lost.
She is a 2009 graduate of Jackson State University, where she credits her involvement in the college chapter of the NAACP for sparking her interest in equal and fair justice. She now serves on the Board of Governors and nominations committee for the American Judges Association. Martina is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Martina volunteers with her church and the Sacred Heart Family Center, where she previously served for 3 years as the administrator. She also serves as an assistant baseball coach for a youth summer league. Martina is an alumnus of the Mississippi Black Leadership Institute (MBLI) and Leadership Madison County, MS.
Martina looks forward to creating more meaningful connections, obtaining the skills to become a better community activist, and continuing to push for positive change.
