Juan Pablo Esquivel

Esquivel is an educator, civic leader, and emerging policymaker committed to transforming the systems that shape opportunity for Black, Brown, multilingual, and working-class communities in Chicago. With more than a decade of experience in special education and STEM instruction, he has seen firsthand how policy decisions made far from the classroom impact students, families, and entire neighborhoods. This perspective drives his work at the intersection of education, community organizing, and public policy.

Esquivel’s civic action is rooted in expanding political participation, increasing resource access, and building Latino power through coalition building and systems change. His long-term vision is to bridge community needs with policy solutions and to prepare for a future role in public office where he can advocate for systemic, sustainable change.
