Roquel Crutcher is an advocate, activist and community-rooted problem solver who cares deeply about making economic systems work for the people they’ve historically left out, driven by a belief that Black communities deserve real ownership, agency, and resources to build the futures with no restrictions.
As the Director of Strategy, Advocacy, and Impact at Common Future, Roquel supports the team by designing and leading key bodies of work that build organizational power and influence, ultimately shifting policy, practices, and resources in partnership with majority BIPOC communities. In her capacity, Roquel is in tune with organizational strategic priorities and ensures that Common Future is working in lock step with key partners to do more than could otherwise be done alone.
Roquel is especially passionate about cooperative entrepreneurship, the importance of narrative, and helping build ecosystems where community-owned entities thrive. She loves connecting dots, pulling people together, and creating space for new ideas to take shape.
Outside of work, you can usually catch her training for a race, at Orangetheory, or on a coffee tour of Memphis!
