Tazjaye Carpenter is a Chicago-based music producer, engineer, DJ, and youth arts leader dedicated to building pathways for the next generation of creators. Since 2019, she has served as the program director for Notes for Notes Chicago, where she develops young artists through hands-on music education, mentorship, and industry-aligned opportunities. Under her guidance, youth have gone on to attend institutions such as Columbia College Chicago and Berklee College of Music, and many continue to thrive as independent artists.
Beyond her nonprofit work, Tazjaye is the founder of Ladylike Studios, a creative hub and event platform amplifying women artists in male-dominated music spaces. Through her events, creative direction, and community-building efforts, she creates spaces that celebrate artistry, empowerment, and collaboration.
Through the Change Collective experience, Tazjaye will focus on strengthening her community-based leadership skills, expanding her impact as a cultural organizer, and building sustainable, equitable structures that support women in the music industry.
