Aysha C. Boston is a proud Detroiter, urban planner, and community development practitioner committed to expanding social mobility for working-class families across Detroit. Her career reflects a deep understanding of the city’s development ecosystem, shaped through roles at the Detroit Regional Chamber, the Detroit Land Bank Authority, and now the City of Detroit’s Housing and Revitalization Department (HRD). With experience spanning economic development, community engagement, real estate development, and asset management, Aysha has built a reputation for bridging bureaucratic systems with community realities.
In her current role as the Corktown Choice Neighborhoods Housing Specialist, she manages the implementation of Detroit’s first HUD Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI) Housing Plan, overseeing development teams, resident-centered processes, and cross-sector partnerships that aim to transform Clement Kern Gardens and its surrounding neighborhood. She brings a civil servant leadership style that prioritizes empathy, listening, and dignity in every interaction.
Aysha remains focus on reimagining how cities define and create value in historically disinvested communities. She intends to explore housing finance, zoning reform, and long-term affordability strategies that strengthen generational stability.
