Charles English is the Manager of Care Coordination at United Way for Southeastern Michigan, where he leads a team dedicated to providing utility assistance to families in crisis. A Detroit native with a background in psychology, Charles brings over five years of experience in trauma-informed care and dismantling systemic barriers for marginalized populations. Previously, he served as an executive in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), spearheading transformative initiatives to reshape hiring practices, enhance onboarding experiences, and foster inclusive workplace cultures. His DEI expertise informs his leadership approach, ensuring equitable and compassionate service delivery.
Through the Change Collective, Charles is excited to collaborate with other changemakers and deepen his understanding of innovative strategies to drive systemic change. He is passionate about strengthening organizational culture, improving service delivery, and creating equitable outcomes for clients and communities. His goal is to use this experience to further his team’s impact and empower individuals facing hardship.
