Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Jonah Espinoza is a second-year student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, majoring in Politics & Law and Economics. He is passionate about the intersection of economics, politics, and the rule of law and how it shapes policy. Furthermore, Jonah works to advance educational equity in Texas so that youth, especially from marginalized and other nontraditional backgrounds, have equitable access to opportunities.
Jonah serves as the Vice-Chair of the City of San Antonio Higher Education Student Advisory Board, engaging in initiatives that increase college enrollment and improve student retention at San Antonio colleges and universities. He is also the youngest member selected for the Northside ISD of San Antonio Leadership program, which focuses on understanding and advocating for improvements in the fourth largest school district in Texas. Jonah is excited to apply the skills and knowledge he gains from the Change Collective to better serve his community and advocate for quality education for all students.
